"A Deep Bay"
After another hot day in Brisbane, all we wanted to do was keep cool. This piece was again inspired by how hot it had been at home.
After a number of 40 degree days, I channeled the cool fluid painting method and dreaming of being at home on the Mid North Coast. One of the headlands I used to visit on a number of occasions in Coffs Harbour helped me with “A Deep Bay”.
Where the water gradually changed colour from shallow to deep with rock formations in the foreground – I missed what I once called home.
When I had completed my painting, I showed my 3-year-old son. His reply was – “are there Dolphins in there Mummy ?”
I felt I had achieved what I’d set out to do.
