I am blessed! There is just no other word for it.
As I was preparing for my next painting and mixing my paints my 3-year-old, Theo, was eagerly watching me and asking me loads of questions, as most 3-year-olds do. We started going through all the colours of the rainbow and the occasional verse of 'I can sing a rainbow' and it made me pause and recognise how lucky it is that I can be at home, doing something that I absolutely love to do while raising my two boys. I love to paint and be creative, it has always been something that's been a part of me and to see the excitement and wonder in my boy's face is a wonderful thing to me.
So the question is asked, "Mumma, can I make a painting?", ABSOLUTELY!!
So off comes the shirt as quick as lightning as to not get paint on his favorite PawPatrol shirt and he starts to chose his paint colours, over the next 5 minutes, he starts to put paint down, at first just randomly and then something happens and he starts making deliberate moves with the paint and I notice that he is starting to mimic some of the techniques that I use to paint. I am overwhelmed with pride, as he too proudly holds up his finished masterpiece! (Straight to the pool room with that!)
I guess what I'm saying, is that at the end of the day, like every mother, I want the best for my children. For me being able to fulfill a dream of creating artwork and to have people from all over Australia and abroad wanting to buy it, means I get to be home with them, supporting them and helping them grow to one day follow their own dreams whatever that may be.
So thank you for loving and buying my artwork. I do a little happy dance every time I get to make something wonderful for you.
